Nooo! I doubt Sonic Retro will shut down, it's way more active than SSRG is. I see new forum posts daily over there and I'm sure the discord server is popping. I don't really get on discord though, I like forums better. I'm sure the SSRG discord is more active than the forums are too. As for sonic hacking, it's definitely still going strong. I recently helped someone on Facebook start hacking. I don't think he's part of SSRG nor Sonic Retro.

Sonic hacking isn't dying but it isn't as lively as it used to be, that's for sure.

Sonic ROM Hacking/ROM hacking in general wasn't really all that big to begin with, since you don't these lame Sonic Media Tubers (or other Sonic Tubers for that matter) analyzing MD Sonic Hacks
plus, it's impossible to get much fame (such as growing big on YouTube) from making a Sonic Hack/ make that hack famous
the biggest you could ever get is like 12k subs like Pacca
